Beauthentique products are formulated to be used simply and confidently — no complicated routines, no guesswork. Each product is complete as it is: certified organic, ready to use, and designed to integrate naturally into your daily skincare and body care ritual.

Face creams & serums — Apply to clean, dry skin morning and/or evening. Use a pea-sized amount for the face, warming between fingertips before pressing gently into skin. Layer lightest to richest: micellar water or cleansing gel first, then serum, then face cream. Our anti-aging serums (Pur'Immortelle Oleo-Serum, Hyaluronic Acid Serum, Anti-aging Lifting Serum) are designed to be used under your moisturiser for maximum absorption. Eye contour products should be applied with the ring finger using light tapping motions around the orbital bone.

Cleansing & makeup removal — Micellar waters and cleansing milks require no rinsing — apply with a cotton pad and sweep gently across the face. Cleansing gels and foams are used on damp skin, massaged in circular motions, then rinsed thoroughly. Our two-phase eye makeup remover should be shaken before use and applied with a cotton pad held gently over the eye for a few seconds before wiping. Toning lotions are applied after cleansing to rebalance skin pH and prepare for moisturising.

Face masks & scrubs — Use face masks 1–2 times per week on clean skin. Apply an even layer, leave for 10–15 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water. Facial scrubs should be used on damp skin with gentle circular movements — 1–2 times per week is sufficient for most skin types. Avoid the eye area. Follow with your usual serum and moisturiser.

Body care & hand creams — Apply body creams and milks to clean skin after showering, while skin is still slightly damp, to lock in moisture. Hand creams can be used throughout the day as needed — our Hyaluronic Acid and Shea Butter formulas absorb quickly without leaving a greasy residue. For intensive overnight repair, apply a generous layer of hand cream before bed.

Shower gels & shower foams — Apply to wet skin or a loofah, lather gently, and rinse. Our certified organic shower gels are sulphate-free and pH-balanced — suitable for daily use on all skin types including sensitive and reactive skin. The shower foam range produces a particularly rich, enveloping lather ideal for a more indulgent cleansing experience.

Solid soaps — Wet hands or skin, lather the soap between palms or directly on skin, and rinse. Our cold-processed organic olive oil soaps are long-lasting and gentle — each bar is formulated for a specific skin type or concern, from baby-soft Pure Olive to clarifying Pure Turmeric and soothing Pure Nettle. Store on a soap dish that allows drainage between uses to extend the life of the bar.

Lip care & lip balms — Apply directly to lips as needed throughout the day. Our organic lip balms and lipcares provide immediate comfort and lasting protection — use before exposure to cold, wind, or sun, and as an overnight treatment for dry or chapped lips. No limit on frequency of use.

Solid deodorants — Apply 2–3 strokes to clean, dry underarms. Our aluminium-free, certified organic solid deodorants are most effective when applied to freshly washed skin. They work by neutralising odour-causing bacteria rather than blocking perspiration — a healthier, skin-respectful approach to daily freshness. Allow a brief moment to dry before dressing.

Sun care & after-sun — Apply our SPF50 organic suncream generously 20–30 minutes before sun exposure and reapply every 2 hours, or after swimming or towelling. Our Tahitian Monoï and after-sun gel are designed for use after exposure — apply liberally to soothe, rehydrate, and restore skin comfort. All sun products are water-resistant and free from chemical UV filters.

Baby & maternity range — All baby products are formulated for the most sensitive skin from birth. Liniment is applied to a cotton pad and used at each nappy change to cleanse and protect without rinsing. Baby shower gel, cleansing milk, and massage oil are used as part of the bath and care routine — always at room temperature, with gentle movements. Maternity oils (stretch marks, radiant face) are massaged in circular motions onto clean skin from the second trimester onwards.

Care oils & vegetable oils — Apply a few drops to clean skin, hair, or nails and massage in until absorbed. Our certified organic care oils — Castor Oil, Dry Sublimating Monoï Elixir, Regenerating Face Oil, After-epilation Oil — are ready to use as they are. Pure vegetable oils (Argan, Sweet Almond, Avocado, Rosehip, and more) can be used alone or blended with essential oils for a personalised treatment. A little goes a long way.

Hair care — Apply shampoo to wet hair, massage into scalp, and rinse thoroughly. Follow with conditioner or hair mask from mid-lengths to ends — leave for 2–5 minutes before rinsing. Our organic hair mask (Monoï & Shea Butter) can also be used as a pre-shampoo treatment: apply to dry hair 30 minutes before washing for deep nourishment.

Certifications in the organic cosmetics market are often misunderstood — labels, standards, and certifying bodies are three distinct things, and we believe our customers deserve to understand the difference. Here is how the framework works, and where our products sit within it.

COSMOS — the standard — COSMOS (COSMetic Organic Standard) is the specifications document that defines what CosméBio-certified products must comply with. Created jointly by CosméBio, Ecocert, BDIH, ICEA, and Soil Association, COSMOS harmonises organic cosmetic standards across Europe and beyond. Since 2017 it has replaced CosméBio’s older national standard. COSMOS is not a label — it is the rulebook behind the label.

CosméBio — the label — CosméBio is a French professional association founded in 2002 to structure and protect the organic cosmetics market against greenwashing. The CosméBio label is the consumer-facing guarantee that a finished cosmetic product meets a rigorous standard for ingredient origin, formulation conditions, ethical sourcing, and responsible packaging. It is the primary certification label carried by the formulated beauty products in the Beauthentique collection.

Ecocert & Bureau Veritas — the certifying bodies — Ecocert and Bureau Veritas are independent accredited certifying bodies. Their role is to audit and verify that products comply with the COSMOS standard — they do not create the standard, and their logos are not organic cosmetic labels in themselves. Once a product passes their audit, the certifying body issues a certificate that grants the right to carry the CosméBio label. Both bodies also certify other industries; their presence on a cosmetic product specifically confirms COSMOS compliance.

EU Organic Farming regulation — the baseline certification for the organic plant-derived raw ingredients used in Beauthentique formulations. Governs agricultural conditions — no synthetic pesticides, no chemical fertilisers — independently verified from field to formulation.

Nature & Progrès — one of the most demanding organic and ecological certifications in France, with criteria that go beyond COSMOS in ingredient origin, processing, and environmental commitment. Held by select suppliers and products in the collection.

Formulated in France — Beauthentique formulated products are developed and produced in France, or in Europe where specified. French cosmetic formulation is governed by EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009 — one of the most rigorous cosmetic safety frameworks in the world. Country of formulation is specified on each product page.

Free from — formulated without parabens, sulphates, silicones, synthetic fragrances, mineral oils, or endocrine disruptors. This is not a trend — it is the condition under which every formulated product in this collection was developed.

Vegan & cruelty-free — the vast majority of products in the Beauthentique collection contain no animal-derived ingredients and are not tested on animals. Where exceptions exist, they are clearly indicated on the individual product page. We do not make blanket claims that cannot be verified product by product.

Certified organic ingredients, not certified organic claims — there is a meaningful difference between a product that carries an organic certification and one that merely uses the word. Every certified product in this collection has been independently audited — its plant-derived ingredients traceable to certified organic agricultural sources, its processing conditions verified, its formulation documented. We do not use certification as a marketing badge. We use it as a floor.

Transparency at product level — we do not make collection-wide claims that cannot be verified product by product. Certifications, country of formulation, vegan status, and ingredient origin are specified on each individual product page. The collection sets the standard; the product page delivers the proof.

Are all products in the Beauthentique collection certified organic? The majority of formulated products in the collection carry the CosméBio label, certified against the COSMOS standard. Some products are made with natural ingredients that meet our quality and clean formulation criteria without carrying a formal organic certification. Each product page specifies its certification status clearly. We do not make blanket claims that cannot be verified product by product.

What does “formulated in France” mean? It means the product was developed and produced by certified French producers, under EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009 — one of the most rigorous cosmetic safety frameworks in the world. LaPeNu does not formulate in-house. We select and curate from producers whose standards meet our criteria for certification, ingredient integrity, and clean formulation. Country of formulation is specified on each product page.

What does “free from” mean on your products? It means the product contains no parabens, silicones, synthetic fragrances, mineral oils, or endocrine disruptors. These are not optional criteria — they are the baseline below which no product enters the Beauthentique collection. Clean beauty formulation is the condition of entry, not a marketing claim.

Are the products suitable for sensitive skin? Many products in the collection are specifically formulated for sensitive, reactive, or atopic skin — including the Pure Olive Baby line, the Pure Lavender and Pure Nettle solid soaps, and the Roman Chamomile and Cornflower hydrolats. Skin type suitability is specified on each product page. As with any cosmetic product, a patch test is recommended for highly reactive skin before first use.

Can I use Beauthentique products in DIY cosmetics? Yes — oil macerates, hydrolats, and essential oils in the collection are widely used as active ingredients in homemade skincare, haircare, and body care formulations. They can replace plain water or synthetic actives in emulsions, serums, and rinses. Always verify usage recommendations and safe concentration levels on the individual product page.

Are any products in the collection vegan? The vast majority of products in the Beauthentique collection contain no animal-derived ingredients and are not tested on animals. You pay for the product — not for the packaging, the advertising, or the brand premium. CosméBio-certified, COSMOS-compliant organic beauty should be accessible, not a luxury.
