Drier and more vivid, Virginia cedarwood has an immediately recognisable facet — close to freshly sharpened pencil wood. Its clean, precise character brings a great deal of elegance to woody accords.

Texas cedarwood offers a broader, warmer profile. Its woody nuances, lightly smoky and subtly leathery, enrich compositions with additional depth while preserving a beautiful aromatic freshness. It brings an enveloping presence and remarkable lasting power to accords.

After harvesting, the wood is steam-distilled to extract the essential oil. Around 35 kilograms of wood are needed to produce one kilogram of essential oil — a transformation that reveals the full aromatic richness of the wood and preserves the nuances unique to each origin.
