• Limonene, which makes up over 90% of Blood Orange essential oil, is bactericidal, antifungal, and antiviral. It is particularly effective against fungi that cause lung infections and helps purify the air. Diffusing it into the air is therefore highly recommended.

• Blood Orange essential oil relieves stress and helps you relax, thanks to its antispasmodic, anxiolytic, and sleep-promoting properties.

✨ Carminative, stomachic ++ (limonene)

• Limonene aids digestion: it stimulates gastric motility, relieves nausea, and prevents gastric hyperacidity by neutralizing certain acids. It also has choleretic and cholagogue properties: it promotes bile production by the liver and its release into the intestine, which aids in fat digestion and supports liver detoxification (bile neutralizes certain toxins). Finally, limonene helps expel intestinal gas.

💡 Usage Recommendations

Diffusion — Add 5–10 drops to an ultrasonic or cold-air diffuser. Diffuse for 20–30 minutes per hour in a well-ventilated room. Ideal for uplifting the mood, purifying the air, and supporting relaxation.

Inhalation — Place 2–3 drops on a tissue or inhaler stick and breathe in slowly. Alternatively, add 3–5 drops to a bowl of hot water, cover your head with a towel, and inhale for 5–10 minutes. Supports respiratory comfort and emotional balance.

Skin application — Always dilute in a carrier oil before applying to skin (2–3% dilution: 2–3 drops per 5 ml of carrier oil). Suitable for face, neck, décolleté, hands, feet, nails, and body. ⚠️ Photosensitizing: avoid sun or UV exposure on treated skin for at least 12 hours after application. Perform a patch test before first use.

Massage — Dilute 3–5 drops in 10 ml of carrier oil and apply with gentle circular movements to the desired area. Promotes relaxation, toning, and circulation. ⚠️ Avoid sun exposure on massaged areas for at least 12 hours.

Bath — Disperse 5–8 drops in a bath dispersant (e.g. neutral shower gel or bath salt) before adding to warm water. Do not add essential oil directly to bathwater without a dispersant. Promotes relaxation and skin radiance.

Cosmetic ingredient — Incorporate into homemade cosmetic preparations (creams, serums, masks, shampoos) at a concentration of 0.5–1%. Suitable for oily, acne-prone, combination, and redness-prone skin types.

Spray — Dilute 10–15 drops in 100 ml of water or hydrosol in a spray bottle. Shake well before each use. Spray into the air to freshen and sanitize the environment, or onto linens for a calming, uplifting scent.

Food & Cooking — Use only food-grade essential oil. Add 1 drop to salad dressings, desserts, yoghurts, or beverages. Mix with a fatty medium (oil, honey, cream) before incorporating into recipes to ensure even distribution.

Oral / Ingestion — 1 drop on a neutral tablet, in a teaspoon of honey, or in a small amount of olive oil, 1–3 times per day. Do not exceed 3 drops per day.
