Goat's milk???

• Organic goat's milk soap is incredibly gentle.
• The 10% goat's milk content in this soap (in addition to natural glycerin and 9% olive oil superfat) provides your skin with extra hydration, perfectly suited to even the most sensitive or very dry skin.
• Hypoallergenic goat's milk has properties similar to donkey's milk. It soothes skin inflammations (such as psoriasis, eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, and acne).
• Furthermore, the coenzyme Q10 naturally present in goat's milk is also known to slow down skin aging. Pretty cool, right? 😊🐐🥛

• And what about the goats?
• At Savons Arthur, we not only ensure that the final product is completely safe for the flora and fauna of our beautiful planet, but we also make sure that the plant-based raw materials come from organic farming and responsible production and/or farming practices 🌱
• Furthermore, all our products (without exception!) meet the very strict specifications required by the Nature & Progrès label 😄

What is the pH of Arthur soaps?

• The pH of our skin naturally lies between 5.5 and 7. This acidity comes from the hydrolipidic film that covers our skin and provides a natural barrier. The pH of our soaps is around 8.5 (which is quite normal for a cold-process, handcrafted soap), so they have a "basic" or "alkaline" pH.
  
• This is NOT a problem when using them; the soap will not destroy your hydrolipidic barrier!
• Indeed, beyond the fact that soap is a product that is rinsed off, its cold-process manufacturing method gives your soap a gentleness that will protect your skin. It also provides a richness in vegetable glycerin (which will protect your hydrolipidic barrier) and a superfatting (9% in our case) that will hydrate and nourish your skin. 💦

• We recommend using a natural soap like this one, rather than a soap-free "treatment" made with synthetic surfactants, which are much less gentle on your skin (despite the advertised neutral pH) and will damage the skin's hydrolipidic barrier.
  
• After all, soap has been around for 4,500 years and has already proven its effectiveness for many users with very sensitive skin. 🥰

Can Arthur soaps be used as shampoo?

• Our organic olive oil soaps are also effective as shampoos!
• Made solely from cold-processed organic olive oil, they will naturally produce less lather than a solid shampoo containing surfactants, but they are just as effective and won't irritate your scalp (or the environment)!
• For those who love a good lather, our lemon-scented solid shampoo (made with added cold-processed pure coconut oil) will give you a generous amount of natural foam.

Cold-Pressed Saponification (Saponification à froid, S.A.F.)???

• To make our liquid and shower soaps, we use the cold process method (CP) ❄️
• This method retains the glycerin naturally produced during the reaction, to which we add 8% superfat (pure organic olive and sunflower oils) for protected and moisturized skin!

Hot or cold process saponification?

• To make our soaps, we use the cold process method (CP) ❄️ by mixing a fat (organic olive oil in our case) and lye at room temperature. This allows us to retain the glycerin naturally produced during the reaction, to which we add 9% superfat for protected and moisturized skin. Cold process soap is ready to use after a curing time of approximately 2 months. 🧼

• Conversely, hot process soap making 🌡️ (like Marseille soap) doesn't require drying time and allows for immediate use of the soap. However, during this process, the oils are heated (and thus lose their properties) and the glycerin is eliminated, preventing it from providing its benefits to the skin.
